Church Covenant

 

As we trust in the finished work of Calvary through which we have been saved by the divine grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and by the power of the Holy Spirit, we do give ourselves to Him in repentance and faith, and now solemnly covenant with each other that, God enabling us, we will:

  1. walk together in brotherly love 1;

  2. exercise a Christian care and watchfulness over each other 2;

  3. not give up meeting together, nor omit the great duty of prayer both for ourselves and others 3;

  4. affirm that the Bible is the inspired Word of God, without error in the original writings, and the supreme and final authority for the believer 4;

  5. endeavor with a holy resolve to make our teaching and total church ministry centered around the great themes of Holy Scripture, our essential message being Jesus Christ the crucified and resurrected Lord 5;

  6. participate in each other's joy, and strive with tenderness and sympathy to bear each other's burdens and sorrows 6;

  7. endeavor to bring up those under our care in the nurture and admonition of the Lord 7;

  8. seek to daily walk in holiness and purity before the watching world, denying ungodliness and every worldly lust as we eagerly await the blessed hope - the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior 8;        

  9. support faithfully the gospel ministry among ourselves and spread the good news of God's redeeming love to the ends of the earth since faith comes from hearing the message and the message is heard by preaching the Word of God 9; and

  10. seek to wholeheartedly live to the glory of Him who has called us out of darkness into His marvelous light 10.
