A key source for job information is the "Aiken Employment Security Commission One-Stop Workforce Center". It is located at 1571 Richland Ave East. Their phone number is 803-641-7640. They are open 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. They not only provide contacts for potential jobs, but also provide contacts for job training through the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) which is received at no cost. My visit this morning (12-10-09), to obtain information, showed them to be very busy but also to be polite, friendly, and helpful.
